CIT CREW HELD AT GUNPOINT, GOLD AND K1 MILLION CASH STOLEN  A Cash-in-Transit (CIT) crew was held at gunpoint during a pre-dawn ambush in Port Moresby this morning, with robbers escaping with gold bars, K1 million in cash and firearms. The incident occurred at about 4:34am after two CIT vehicles left the GDSS base at approximately 4:30am this morning and travelled towards Jacksons International Airport via the Poreporena Freeway. According to a preliminary statement from the CIT unit, the vehicles were approaching the Courts roundabout when a blue unmarked 10-seater vehicle was seen parked near the former 5 Mile 24 market. The vehicle reportedly pursued an SUV travelling in the outside lane and stopped it before the Sioni Kami roundabout. The CIT vehicles then encountered what appeared to be a roadblock, with both lanes blocked. ARE WE REALLY READY FOR THE PNG CHIEFS? TODAY’S BEHAVIOUR SAYS OTHERWISE  I honestly don't know if we are ready for the PNG Chiefs and NRL-level football if this is the kind of behaviour we are going to show in our stadiums. Today, I saw supporters breaking stadium chairs and throwing them onto the field. Reports from the area indicated that around 10 to 15 chairs, and possibly as many as 20, had already been broken. People were also throwing bottles and other containers onto the field. This isn't passionate support anymore. This is destruction. What makes it even worse is that security had to deal with the situation while people were watching from the stands. Imagine breaking the property you are supposed to be enjoying, then throwing pieces of it onto the field. What exactly are we trying to prove? We complain that our stadiums aren't good enough, then some of us turn around and destroy the little infrastructure we have. That mentality takes us backwards. There were also ...

First, both teams played a very good game, and the atmosphere was intense. But what happened in the Northern Stand, where Eagles and Gurias supporters were sitting, has now become a bigger story than the game itself. I have seen many people already criticizing the Eagles supporters and blaming them for everything. Hold on. Before you judge, let me explain what I witnessed from that section of the stadium. Some Gurias supporters, including men and women sitting close to the Eagles supporters, were passionately supporting their team. Supporting your team is perfectly normal. But according to what I witnessed around that particular section, the banter went beyond normal football support.
